Azure AI Foundry

Import agents from Microsoft Azure AI Foundry into your governance registry. New agents are automatically detected and flagged for registration.

Feature Overview

Prerequisites

Azure subscription with AI Foundry access
Azure Tenant ID
Permission to grant read access to AI resources (Azure AD Admin or App Registration)

Set Up Connection

Navigate to Integration → Integrations in the dashboard
Click Connect next to Azure AI Foundry
Enter your Azure Tenant ID
You will be redirected to Microsoft to authorize read access to your AI resources
After successful authorization, the first sync starts automatically

What Is Imported?

Field	Source
Agent Name	`AIProjectClient.agents[].name`
Model	`model_id` (e.g., `gpt-4o`, `gpt-4-turbo`)
Tools	`tool_resources[]` — function names and descriptions
Instructions	`instructions` — used as description in the governance registry

Governance Workflow

Azure Foundry → Sync → Discovered Agents (ungoverned)
                              ↓
                   Compliance Officer selects agents
                              ↓
                   Registration page (identity pre-filled)
                              ↓
                   Risk classification + responsibility chain
                              ↓
                   Agent registered and governed ✅

Imported agents always require a complete governance setup (risk classification, responsibility chain, Art. 5 screening) before they can be activated.

Sync Interval

The default is 60 minutes. You can adjust the interval in the integration settings or sync manually at any time.

Shadow AI Discovery

When new agents are created in Azure Foundry between syncs, an alert appears on the dashboard:

3 unregistered agents detected — Register them via the agent registration to support your compliance posture.

This alert is shown to all users with a compliance or admin role.
